Hello
I am having trouble getting archive logs to write to a mapped network drive.
I've shutdown db and edited the initialization parameter file to include
a 2nd archive log destination to a mapped drive but get errors at restart.

(errors = ORA-00256:error occurred in translating archive text string
ORA-09291: invalid device specified for archive destination
OSD-04018: Unable to access the specified directory or device
etc .....The system cannot find the file specified....)

It seems that any local server path works for a arc. destination, but anywhere
else on the network fails. I've tried path via UNC too but no love...we're trying
to have a 2nd disk have copies of archive logs in case primary disk's archive
logs get toasted in some worst case-scenario. Also this would help with creating
a readonly database for reporting...

Thank you for your time.
