I currently have about 250 users in active directory, the server is windows server 2003, we use roaming profiles. Everyone's profile is located on the file server in a profiles directory.

When I log onto the server and browse to the directory I get an access denied when trying to open a users profile directory.

I understand this is a problem because of how rights are assigned to users profile directories. I also understand that if I take ownership of these directories then there is a good chance of breaking the profile, and it will not work properly for the user, meaning they may not have rights to there own profile.

Can someone please tell me a way of accessing users profiles ? without causing any problems of course.

The reason i want to do this is because, some of our users profiles are huge and i just want to go into them and see what is making them so large.
