We've created a cname entry for sendfile.allisontransmission.com on the internet. This alias points to www.sendthisfile.com. We see that http://www.sendthisfile.com/ is a valid, working link to a web page. We see that the cname record that we created in the allisontransmission.com domain looks correct. Here it is : sendfile.allisontransmission.com. 300 IN CNAME  www.sendthisfile.com.

When we attempt to go to http://sendfile.allisontransmission.com/ it fails. We are sitting behind a firewall. There is an internet domain called allisontransmission.com and there is an intranet domain with the same name. We have an autoproxy pac file set up. When Joe User enters a URL that includes the allisontransmission.com domain he automatically goes through the firewall unless there's a rule in the pac file to prevent this.

Any ideas why this cname entry is not working? Thanks.
