How can I scan directly to email with my fi-5120c fujitsu scanner?
I have a new fi-5120c scanner. TWAIN and ISIS drivers installed. My OS is Windows Vista Business, email client is Outlook 2007.
Scandall21 (uses TWAIN and takes 30 seconds to open and 30 seconds to scan one page) and QuickScan (uses ISIS and loads in 1 second and scans one page in 2 seconds) are also installed.
Scandall will scan to email but it takes forever.
QuickScan will only scan to an intermediate format (pdf, jpg, tiff, etc.) From there, I have to Save or Send To. Is there a way to use QuickScan to go directly to email?

The fi-5120c only has SCSI and USB interfaces, so it can only scan to the attached PC. And, as far as I know, QuickScan does not send to email.

Ah, yes. I worded my question poorly. We want to go through QuickScan because it uses the ISIS drivers and is fast.
QuickScan defaults to saving the image to a file using Windows filing system. Is there a way to make QuickScan invoke the MAIL call that you typically see when you click, say, Sent To in a typical application?

I doubt it very much.
The Fujitsu is a high-speed scanner (up to 50 ppm). You don't really want to flood your email system with large amounts of scan data. Your email server will not appreciate it if you keep throwing multi-megabyte messages at it. This is especially true if you use an ISP; in that case your data will be sent out to the internet, and then sent from the ISP back to the recipient.

Ok. Can you recommend a good scan software that will scan directly to email but doesn't negate the benefits of having the speedy fi-5120c. Scandall21 launches slowly and spends up to 30 seconds digesting a scan after it is complete.

PS: If you can't recommend something, I'll accept the above answer anyway.
Scan to Email 3.1 by O Imaging Corporation seems to be popular. See:

Other packages include:

http://www.scan2email.net/

Note that I have not tried any of them, so I have no idea how good they are. However, all of them are available for download.

Thanks.
VirtualRescan 4.2 Professional from Kofax will add Desktop Productivity enhancements with the 4.2 release. It does include Scan From Email capabilities and Scan From Desktop or folder. It will be released at some point mid March 2008. You might want to look at http://www.kofax.com/products/virtualrescan/index.asp . It will work perfect with any Fujitsu Document Scanner
