I am trying to move a win 2003 server from one system to a dissimilar system with smaller disk drives.
i get an internal error 0070001 no., of copied sectors differs from counted.  Do any of you experts have the solution?  I am using acronis server universal restore and cant find any info anywhere to help.

I have actually done this before, on not similar hardware. That's why I am looking for more into.  In this particualr case, the hardware is similar, but not identical, perc2 vs per2 raid controllers. But I have used acronis to move the entire srever to ide non-raid successfully.  The scsi disks I am having the problems with are identical in size.  I am moving from a dell 6600 to 4400 but dont think that should make any difference.  Any ideas based on this additional info?

the answer is to check the box that restores the master boot record and track 0.  this will, apparently set the correct number of sectors.
anyway this is the fix, i found just by trying different things.
also, installing a fresh version of the server and installing acronis and then restoring the other disks worked too, except it did not work on the c (boot) drive, for that i had to boot from cd, and select teh mbr and track 0 to get it to restore c and be bootable.
