Why does my sound lag/crackle when i hit keys on the keyboard?

I have a brand new machine with everything running flawlessly apart from this. No matter what program I am in or what i am doing, when I type if there is sound in the backround it will lag/playback terrible quality, so therefore if im typing fast when listening to music i would lag the sound continuously nearly. Can anyone help me? I'm using vista 32 bit ultimate, i think you should see the stats on my computer above this in the description. Thanks for any help.

have you checked for the latest sound card drivers? it could be playing havoc with your wireless keyboard (is it wireless) driver.

The drivers are the latest and the keyboard isn't wireless, its a saitek eclipse (doesn't require drivers/plugnplay)

i would first try another keyboard, to be sure

Try checking the programs and features window in the Control panel. If you have the Intellitype software installed, try uninstalling it. It may be the cause of the lagging sound when you play music files.
