How do I move mailbox data from one user to another?

Hello,
How do I move the contents of one mailbox in Exchange 2007 to anothe user without exmerging the data and losing single instance message store. I basically want to disassociate the mailbox from one user account and assign that mailbox to a different user. (one person replaced someone and has the same job role)

Thank you.

You can do that if the 2nd user does not have a mailbox.....

1. make sure you have mailbox retention enabled
2. delete the mailbox
3. from EMS run  get-mailboxdatabase | clean-mailboxdatabase
4. go to disconnected mailboxes and connect to the user you want

how big is the mbx, mail merge cannot be that bad.... with 2007 you can use the move-mailbox with some switches to move the contect into another mailbox as well.

mailbox is about 3gig... nothing too big.
so this is a normal process and a new feature of exchange 2007? If that new user already has an existing mailbox I can just export his data to a .pst and then disconnect that mailbox and delete it and then move the departing users' mailbox to the current user?

I probably don't have mailbox retention enabled. Where is that setting?
