Many times I leave my computer on, but turn off my monitor. When I flip my monitor back on and a Window is open, for example Internet Explorer, the Window (maximized) starts expanding outward (including taskbar) beyond the size of the screen and then the monitor shuts down and the led light starts blinking orange.<br />

However, when I turn on my monitor and quickly minimize all my screens to only the Desktop, the screen does not start expanding and does not shut down. I usually wait a little while on Desktop and my Windows no longer start expanding as much, causing my monitor not to shut down.<br />

Do I need to find a new display driver? Any suggestions?<br />

Monitor shuts off and led light blinks orange, when this happens..

A monitor or a display is an electronic visual display for computers, usually comprised of the display device, circuitry, casing, and power supply. The display device in modern monitors is typically a thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) thin panel, while older monitors used a cathode ray tube (CRT) about as deep as the screen size. They are connected to the computer via VGA, DVI, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt, LVDS or other proprietary connectors and signals.
