Check for any updates from Microsoft on their page manually. I know there was a major glitch with 2003 BCM that required a not-well-known update that didn't come down in Automatic Updates, this might be the same thing.

http://blogs.msdn.com/bcm/archive/2008/01/23/how-to-change-bcm-polling-interval.aspx

Set it to 6000 and up to 30000 and my systems fly.
Spent many hours before finding this fix for slow behavior.

Hi,

have already tweaked the amount of RAM used by the SQL, changed the polling rate, still not working. Since this was an update, I thought that perhaps the local .OST file was corrup in the process of upgrading.

Have created a new profile, and all it works - not as fast as without BCM, but it works. I thought that perhaps the RAM and polling tweaks have made a difference, so have tested on a 'fresh' machine without any twaeks and still works.

Hope this helps for those still in search of a resolve!
