From the asterisk command line can you type "iax2 show peers" while the iax software client is working.

Enhanced Intelligibility Without Cable Clutter

Challenge: The ESA office in Brussels wanted a reliable audio conference system for video conferences. Their requirement - No participant must be left out from the conference and the audio quality must not be compromised.

The client is oviously registered ok. What output is displayed in asterisk when you try and dial the extension?

ok i found out what it was

1. i had a macro to create extensions from 70 - 79 via the code below. so i changed the iax.conf to a free 70 number which is now 75. and adjusted the code below to the last line and it worked.

Does that make sense or do you advise a better method?

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;OFFICE EXTENSION;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
EXTEN => _7x,1,Macro(normal|${EXTEN}|Sip/${EXTEN})
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

EXTEN => _7x,1,Macro(normal|${EXTEN}|Sip/${EXTEN})&IAX2/${EXTEN};

That will work fine.
It will try to dial via IAX for all 70-79 extensions but it wont cause any problems if some of them dont exist.
