Which Ports Do I Open?

I am trying to find which ports I need to open  on a Router so I can access a DV-9240 DVR SYSTEM

That should be available in the documentation or from the installer. It could be port 80 as web access, or any other port depending on the manufacturer. You also may be able to tell by the preferences/configuration on an existing install.  A safer, and perhaps easier option would be to set up a VPN. Then the remote would have full network access (depending on the configuration/permissions). You would also be monitoring and encrypting the traffic. You will need a good internet connection (read T1 or better) to view the DVR out put in any acceptable framerate. (Also depends on the number or cameras you are viewing as well as some other factors). Faster is better.
