We have a SBS2003 server on which we have been doing SBS backups. Recently these have failed due to filling the tapes.

Our RAID array has failed and I have had to rebuild the array, reinstall the OS and resore the system from a Month end tape from several months ago. I now want to restore any data that was on a more recent tape but cannot get ntbackup to catalog the tapes. It asks for the second tape but of course this is not available (we were never asked to enter a second tape!!) and the only option we have is to cancel the catalog job!!

Any ideas - HELP!!!

try this

click the Tools menu, click Options, click the General tab, and then make sure the Use the catalogs on the media to speed up building restore catalogs on disk check box is cleared. This will ensure that the catalog is complete and accurate; however, it could take a long time to create the catalog.
