linux business process workflow

Dear All,
i would like to develop or customized a ready made open source linux based workflow for a small dept( task managment, document managment, project managment....etc).
any suggestions ?

I'm guessing that perhaps you placed this question in the SBS Small Business Server Zone by mistake then?  Because SBS is a Microsoft Windows Server.

But just to give you a hand here... are you looking for a hosted product? or in-house?  Because if hosted, I can recommend www.centraldesktop.com or http://www.lifehack.org/articles/lifehack/design-an-online-workflow.html  At least you can look at those for other ideas as well.

i guess by mistake i place in the wrong place, anyhow any other suggestion?
i went through the links you provide but it doesnt fullfil my requirments.
am looking for a customized interface to monitor all the dept activities from task,projects,contact...etc.
what are they currently using for email?

microsoft exchange and would like to change to sendmail or qmail
If you're already using Exchange, why switch?  Is this an Small Business Server 2003?  If so, then why not just deploy Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager?  BCM is included with either Office Small Business or Professional... and is a completely customizable with a fully accessable API, but the base product is fairly good as is.

it's licesining issue and we dont want to invest more in microsoft
Mind if I ask what kind of company you are?  How many users? and where located?
