restoring Netbackup tape from a Backupexec server

hello, If i have a tape backed up using Netbackup (version unknown at this point of time - host of netbackup is windows 2003), then can it be restored using backupexec 10d?

Hi

as long as the tape is good and the OS is the same. I.e if you have backed up using netbackup on a windows OS you can merge that tape on a windows OS
and restore the data. As a matter of fact you can scan the tape to list its contents and determine if restoring the data would be of any help. Otherwise why would you need data on a tape which we are not aware when it was backedup.

If you are asking can you restore or not then i would say yes, provided the tape is readable. You cannot use the same on a backupexec server running on unix or netware. You need to try restoring the tape on a windows server only.
