Are you talking about a button that you defined on your page that navigates to the previous page with some JavaScript?

multiview stays on the same page and you can have different view.

my back button goes from view2 to view 1

it is triggering required field validator and i am thinking that the fix will be to make causevalidation=false

what do u think?   i will be testing in a minute

It is difficult to recommend any course of action, since I don't understand what you are talking about, but a careful implementation of the CauseValidation = False would probably solve the problem.
