Cannot Reply/Forward when in public folder messages in Outlook Web Access (OWA)

Hi,

We are having an issue whereby users cannot reply/forward messages stored in public folders when using Outlook web access (OWA), no problem via Outlook client.  The toolbar is simply missing.  Anyone have any ideas how to resolve.

Oddly, once the message is archived via out software then accessed via same folder the options are there again.

The only way round it is to introduce a frontend server.
It works in Outlook because Outlook is not OWA. It is a different interface.

If you are on a single server deployment then that is normal. It is a feature only available in a frontend/backend scenario. Don't ask me why.

Is there anyway to get round this? How comes it works in an Outlook client but not in OWA?  

I suppose this is why it works once it has been archived because the archive server is effectively a backend repository.
