Over the Weekend my Sonicwall SOHO3 died. &nbsp;It has worked well for 5 years and now I need to replace it. &nbsp;I am looking for something that do the following....<br />
1. &nbsp;Internet Firewall<br />
2. &nbsp;Software VPN for users from anywhere on the internet.<br />

The Sonicwall worked great for many years, and now I am interested in the other options before going with the a Sonicwall TZ180.<br />

Software firewalls, also known as host-based firewalls, provide a layer of software on one host that controls network traffic in and out of that single machine. Most operating systems now include firewall software, but many available software firewalls include central distribution, antivirus systems and disaster recovery.
