ftp login site not workig in Firefox or on mac

Hello.  I created a login page to validate a user's username and password for an ftp site.  The site works great in IE but does not work in Firefox or on a mac.  Any suggestions?  I even tried downloading the fireftp extenstion for Firefox but could not get the firefox browser to work on a pc.

<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">

<!-- Begin
function Login(form) {
var server = "ftp.sundances.com";
var username = form.username.value;
var password = form.password.value;
if (username && password) {
var ftpsite = "ftp://" + username + ":" + password + "@" + server;
window.location = ftpsite;
}
else {
alert("Please enter your username and password.");
   }
}
</script>

<form name="login">
                  <table cellspacing="8" cellpadding="0" border="0" width="500" class="loginform">
                        <tr>
                              <td colspan="2"><h1>PLEASE SIGN IN</h1></td>
                        </tr>
                        <tr>

                              <th>USERNAME:</th>
                              <td><input type="text" maxlength="255" name="username" value="" style="width:175px;"/></td>
                        </tr>
                        <tr>
                                                      <th>PASSWORD</th>
                              <td><input type="password" maxlength="255" name="password" value="" style="width:175px;"/></td>
                        </tr>
                        <tr>
                          <td></td>
<td><a href="#" onClick="Login(document.getElementById('login'));" class="linkbox"  style="width:175px;">Sign In</a>
                                    <input type="hidden" value="Login" name="login" onClick="Login(this.form)"/></form>

Add id attribute to your form tag:

<form id="login" name="login">

Is there a way to skip over the screen that lists the items and show the actual drop site where a user can add and remove files?

You are asking for something different. Anyways I guess with just javascript you cannot achieve. You try this applet I found in this url:
