contact does not appear in Global Address List

I have created a new contact in the active directory. This is somebody who works for our company part-time and does not have an account. The reason i created the contact is so that people can find him in the Global Address list and email him (on his personal email).

The problem is that the contact (him) does not show under the 'Global Address List' in Outlook. He only shows under 'All contacts'. However, he does show in the preview of the Default Global Address List in Exchange System Manager.

I need him to show under the Global Address List in Outlook.  Can anybody help?

When did you create this contact?
If you have only just created it then I would not expect it to show in the GAL due to the way that the Outlook works when in cached mode. Can you see the contact in the GAL through OWA - which uses live information.
