ACDSee problem

For a particular user I needed to install XP on a pc (prior Windows 2000). This user also had ACDSee 7. After I installed it and launched it, I got a message that I needed to activate. But when I let it activate, after a while I'm getting the following error:
ACDSee encountered an error while trying to activate your license code

What now?

I see this problem was posted at ACDSee's forums, but no answer was ever provided:

You could uninstall ACDSee7.  Reboot.  Download, install, and run CCleaner (www.ccleaner.com) both its cleanup utility and its registry cleaner.  Reboot.  Reinstall and reactive ACDSee7.  See if the error comes back.

If the error comes back, then I'd suggest contacting ACDSee.  The below link is to their Product Registration page.  You may want to just file a support ticket to ask them.  I did search their knowledgebase and did not find any resolutions provided for this issue.  I would definitely contact ACDSee, their support should know how to resolve the issue.
