share.exe error

Outlook 2000
Exchange 2003 and exchange 5.5 sharing public folders,Free/busy time over Microsoft Exchange Server Inter-Organization Replication

some user get a share.exe error by opening calenar items
some of the users use a customized Outlook calendar form

by opening the OL form (same if the original OL Calendar form or a customized form) user get an erro message telling:

outlook was not able to open the form, share.exe need to run on your pc to be able to open the file

according to MS , share.exe is not supported anymore
we are trying to understand the casue for this share.exe message on a Windows 2000 and Outlook 2000 client

can a Microsoft Exchange Server Inter-Organization Replication in between a Exchange2003 and 5.5 casue this error?
or, is it possible that the customized form used may casue a share.exe issue?

the from is build to work on OL 2000,2003 and 2007
the form use latest technology

i worked on this issue the entier week.

it look like the "sahre.exe" error message is erroneusly sent by Microsoft.

by checking the way the error appear (Process Monitoring) i find a share violation by opeining the cached custom form on Doc-settings/user/local-seetings/Applications/Microsoft/OUtlook/FORMS

the tmp file stored on the IPM.appintment look to be lockt and cannot be opened

the reason? do not know...
it appears from time to time. in a not easy way to replicate
antivirus,other addin?OL Reminders ?

FORM Cache reload Registry to force a reload of the form

The "Share.exe" program that you're thinking of (with reference to "according to MS , share.exe is not supported anymore ") was used to support 16bit applications designed in pre-win9x systems.  If you're getting an error message about it, that suggests one of two things.

1) your custom form was designed a long time ago, and is in desperate need of upgrading
2) you have a virus that is using the built-in hooks for the old share.exe functions to infect your system.

My money is on the first option.
