How do I enter the registered trademark symbol using the text tool?
I created a text box and I need to put the registered trademark symbol (the R inside a circle) into it. How do I do that in Fireworks? For regular old HTML, I just use ®. Couldn't find anything in Fireworks help.
http://www.atm.ox.ac.uk/user/iwi/charmap.html ... go here, choose the character you want then copy and paste it into your document.

Thanks. I guess I could have done the same thing by just typing ctl-alt-r into Word and copying/pasting from there. But is there no way to do it totally inside of Fireworks? That is, does Fireworks not support direct entry of special characters?

Sorry ... actually the alt-0174 doesn't work. I hold down alt then press 0 and the system gives the error gong; error gong again for each of the following digits 1-7-4. Nothing appears on screen. I am typing inside a text box.
Interesting... I'm assuming your doing this on a Windows computer and you're using the number pad (the numbers across the tops of the letters wouldn't work).
Oh, and that Num Lock is on.

OK ... will have to try later on regular keyboard. I'm on a notebook ... maybe it can only be done thru separate numeric keypad?
