When I try and login to IM on a Sametime 7.5.1 server from a Notes 8.0 client. I get an error message saying the Sametime server is temp not available.  This started after I upgraded to Note 8 client.  The other people on the same server are able to connect using Notes 7.x client

Check the settings on your your location document and your Notes Instant messgaing prefeerneces and your Sametime client preferences.

In Notes 7, all the Sametime interaction was internal to the Notes client. In 8, it can integrate directly with the full Sametime 7.5 client. So it is posisble that you now have the full ST client, but it was never set up before and did not  pick up the old Notes-based settings. or, you could be using the Notes client's reduced ST client, and somethikng got fouled up with the settings on upgrade -- Sametime server listed in location doc, or preferences.
