I have a 3Com Office Connect ADSL Wireless 54 Mbps 11g Firewall Router installed in a property abroad. I have just enabled Remote administration on the router which says the default port is 8000. How do I actually administer the Router now over the internet!
I used to use PC Anywhere which worked fine but since enabling this feature I can not connect to PC Anywhere from home. Help!

To get to the router management console remotely you would open your browser (IE, Firefox, whatever you're using) and type: http://[router public IP address]:8000

Geting messager that router can't be found. Should there be spaces anywhere in the address? Could firewall on port 8000 cause a problem? The router is set on UpNp

Can you ping the router's IP address?  If so, then it sounds like the remote management is not responding for some reason.  Port 8000 would not normally be firewalled if you have set the router to allow remote management on that port.  UPnP traversal doesn't have anything to do with remote management on the router itself. Is there anyone in the remote office that you could get to check the settings on the router?  If you used to be able to get through using pcAnywhere and you can't anymore, then it sounds like there is something wrong with the router's NAT port forwarding settings.  It might just need to be refreshed by restarting it.
