Is it possible to valign code at the bottom using css?

My code is so confusing becuase it allings on the top and I don't know why

Of course a lot of is controled by CSS so that's what I think is happening
can you help me?

Here's the code:

      <td valign="top" align="left"    width="250">From third country sources (specify countries):
      <br>
      <textarea name="ThirdCountry" id="ThirdCountry" cols="30" rows="2"><%=sThirdCountry%></textarea>

      <td class="responseinside" align = "right" valign="bottom">$<input  type="text" maxlength = "9" size = "12" name="fundThirdEquity" id="fundThirdEquity" value="<%= (dblfundThirdEquity) %>" class="money" onBlur="this.value=formatCurrency(this.value); CalculateEquity(); CalculateGrandTotal();"></TD>

Would it helped if I created a height for the column?  I mean it's stretched because the first column with the textarea stretches it, but I just want the second column to be aligned at the bottom, and I can't figure out how to do it...     :(

Hi,
In your TD it says valign="top", change it to valign="baseline"

Hi,
Actually to make it look a bit better it should look like :

<td style="vertical-align:baseline">
