Unable to see text in CS 1.6 when launched from Steam
Text are scrambled and garbage if I launch CS 1.6 from Steam. Have tried deleting the cache files, installing and verifying the cache but it doesn't work. Even reinstalling the entire game doesn't help. The game can still be played though but it is just irritating, annoying and disturbing that all text appears to be garbage.
I have updated all latest hardware drivers and my specs are:
Lenovo T60 Core2 Duo 2Ghz
3GB RAM
Intel 945GM/GU Express Chipset Family
The funny part is that if I launch CS from Sierra instead of Steam, I can see the text so I believe that it should not be a hardware problem but rather some fix or patches issues in Steam.

No custom GUI or Mods. It has been like that since I installed it a month ago.

restored my video card settings to default and it works!! anyway, thanks MASQUERAID and Br3ed for your time in this matter.
Steam has a separate GUI which would explain why it launches fine from Sierra.
If this has recently happened a Steam update is probably not compatible with an installed mod.
Either remove the mod or check for an update from the designer.
If none of this applies you may need to reset the Steam defaults.
