accessing data on a hard drive

I had a motherboard go bad, and now I ma trying to access the data of my hard drive via a 2.5' HD enclosure. My problem is that I'm getting a access denied error when trying to access. Can some one suggest software or solution to get to this data.

You will need to take ownership of the drive.

It will not let me chang permissions. I keep getting the error that permission is denied.

No, I am running the xcacls from the command prompt, black and white only

I was advised to run xcacls to attempot to overwrite the security permissions on that drive....And it is not working
