microsoft, windows server, 2003 sp1, cannot get sp2 installed

I go to microsoft update, it downloads sp2 but end giving a message windows server 2003 sp2 did not install

Rather than using ms update, download the SP here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=22CFC239-337C-4D81-8354-72593B1C1F43&displaylang=en

Run it locally to install.

Also, you should have some errors in your application and system logs indicating why the earlier installation fialed
