Hi,
No you cannot do that in html. This is for security reasons.
You can in VB for example but then you will have to deploy either vb6.dll or a framework before launching your application.
There is an other way is to create a CD using demoshield for example or another software to make CD autorun and presentations.

Hi,
I just found on the web that Macrovision has stopped the demoshield product line. Adobe which has merged with Macromedia some time ago is still carrying apparently their product called Director. This is the type of software you need to distribute media on CDs, ...
It is not free though and I don't know any good one that is free.
Here is the link : http://www.adobe.com/products/director/
Hope that helped.

hi bro

i think i didnt explain what i need exactly and why i need it.

What i need is i need t create a CD, with some mp3 files, pps files, Pdf files, and i want o distribute this CD to many of my clients.
but at the same time, i dont want to assume that the client will have real player to play the mp3 files or power point to present the pps or acrobat to display the pdf.

i want my CD to contain the tool that contains the Data and the apps that display it, without asking the client to install any thing from the CD.

i want it to autorun and the client to just watch and click to browse.

my clients are computer illitrate.

Regards

Hi,
This might be possible for the mp3 if you include a control on an html page but it won't be possible for pps and pdf files. Either the client has the programs to read those files or you will have to get your clients to install the programs. There is no other way of doing that except if you insert the content of your files into an html file (copy and paste the content) but then you won't be distributing pps and pdf anymore, just displaying the info within a small website (full html you won't be able to use php for example and if you use scripting like javascripts, it will be blocked by the browser asking the client "this website contains unsecured elements, are you sure you want to continue ..." and this is not very professional.
