The scanner comes with Pen Power software which uses optical character recognition to read the image from the device (from both sides if necessary).  Although the software makes intelligent decisions about the fields it has scanned it still needs human input to make sure that the data is in VCF format to be imported into other packages (CRM, Outlook Contacts etc), otherwise you can end up with the listing for 'John Doe' to be under "M" as 'Manager, General' on the computer.

To be honest I now simply hand business cards to my secretary to manually enter into Outlook which has a great advantage over the scanner, it is faster, at least as accurate and my notes on the back of the card are recorded against the details.

The instructions for Pen Power WordScanner software are here:
ftp://ftp.penpower.com.tw/public/manual/WorldCard_V52g_EN(0507).pdf

But should be included with your hardware.
