How do i perform Inter-chasis sup720 redundancy in 6509 switch located at DC and DR site

We are implementing Disaster Recovery Site for our Data Center. Both are located at separate locations. We are using Cisco 6509 Switch as the core switch at DC, running IOS 12.2(18)SXF7,Sup720 in slot 1.We are interconnecting the DC and DR using CWDM fiber link. Now, we need to implement Swith level redundancy between 6509 at Dc and 6509 at DR. This i believe is  nothing but redundancy at Sup720 level. I have visited Cisco's site, but could not find clear doc on this. I 'm not sure, if we can use HSRP here, and if yes how and if not, then what will work to create failover.

We have multiple mod in 6509 at both sites, and we also need to impement failover at mod levels as well. Can some body provide guidnace?

Failover of separate devices is accomplished with routing protocols, spanning-tree and in some cases HSRP.

If you need a 6509 to be redundant, you'll need dual sup's, dual power supplies and dual fan trays. But then you'll have a single point of failure on the fiber link between the DC and DR.

ASKER

We are planning to have a backup for single CWDM link between DC and DR.
