how to start weblogic server 8.1? i m novice....

hello,
can anybody help me how to start weblogic server?i typed localhost:8080 for tomcat ..for weblogic i hv to do what?

The first thing yo should do is to run startWeblogic.sh (.bat on windows ) command from your weblogic domain directory. Then in your browser go to http://localhost:port/console. Default port is 7001.

the url will be like
http://localhost:7001/yourdomain/startup_page.jsp

many thanks for ur help.....i hv done the following in tomcat successfully...can u pls help me what i hv to do if i want the same to run on weblogic....i mean where to place which files ...what directories to be created....it is a very simple servlet....m also giving code n detail desc...pls help...thanks....

 i hv taken ------
                                                a) a html file(home.html)

that asks for username and password and when the user clicks log in button ...if

username is equal to "user" and password is equal to "pass" then a

"success.html" page comes otherwise "error.html" page comes(servlet code is provided below)

                                                b)i hv created a directory

named "a" in "C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat

5.0\webapps\servlets-examples"

                                                c)in directory "a" i have

placed 3 html files--1)home.html,2)success.html,3)error.html

                                                d)my java file  a1.java  is

in "C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat

5.0\webapps\servlets-examples\WEB-INF\classes" folder.()

                                    e)my web.xml descriptor is--
</servlet>
         <servlet-name>welcome1</servlet-name>
         <servlet-class>a1</servlet-class>
</servlet>
<servlet-mapping>
         <servlet-name>welcome1</servlet-name>
         <url-pattern>/welcome1</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>

                                    f)my server.xml looks like

thanks........done....now in another question i hv given the same problem ....but this time the server is JBOSS...how to do the same thing in JBOSS?
