I got few users having issues downloading POP emails from the mail server. The users are located in another country all of sudden the email they keep down the same set of email into thier outlook 2k3 client over and over but those downloaded email is not removed from the server, resulting the outlook 2k3 client redownload them all over again nonstop. Anyone ever encounter this problem before.

Hi,
Outlook is duplicating them because until the last message is retrieved the messages seem to stay on the server.

Is every last message retrieved or does Outlook stop just before the last message. This can be cuased by a corrupt mail.

well this problem is isolated within that regional office. They have no problem telnet 110 to the mail server the ping rate to the mail server seem fine as well. it is not limited to 1 person but all the users in the regional office. However, those laptop user if they use outside internet connection, they seem to do not have this problem.

Callieman, it not that problem I oreadi check with them. As for War1 solution, whether there is more than 1 outlook instance running I do not know. I asked the user to restart the computer so it is impossible to have 2 outlook instance running causing it.

I did a ping with buffer size of 992 bytes to the ADSL Cisco Router for that companies there is zero timeout. However when I lower the buffer size to around 512 bytes I can see frequent timeout. Is this issue possible cause of black hole router issue.

Ok. In the end, it is the problem the remote office internet connection that caused all this hoo haa. The remote office called some vendor who in turn call the ISP to reset the line. Then everything just went back to normal.
aneky, glad the problem is fixed. So it was the ISP causing the duplicates.
