Panasonic HDC-SD1DOES have a Mic input but where is the shoe to hold the Mic

Ive been looking for a camcorder for a while now - the panasonic HDC-SD1 seems a good choice, to which after more reading I found this website -

There is a picture in there about 1/2 way down that shows a composite and mic input - Can someone tell me if this is what I think it is - imputs for an external mic ( i just want to be sure ) also - I do not see a shoe for the mic ( I would like that facility ) does this camcorder come with a shoe to hold the external mic ! If not what is one supposed to do with the external, have someone hold it / ...

Hi Nathan,
These cameras, as you know, have their own internal microphones fitted. Actually with regards to the mic plugged into the mic input you are quite correct. It is for placing a microphone on a stand in an ideal place or getting someone to hold it close to the subject. These camcorders are not designed to mount camera microphones.
