Have read kb article 875300 and need to re-run forestprep to repair ad directory service objects.  Do i need to run forestprep on the parent domain exchange server and the child domain exchange server?  Are there any gotchas I need to be aware?  Does this need to be performed during offhours,(will it effect the email users?).

Prep is non destructive. It can be run during production hours and does not require any reboots. Prep is not server specific, so if you have to run forest prep then run it in the root domain of the forest. If you have to run domain prep then run that in each domain.
