PowerPoint slide has no 'sound'

Hi,

I'm putting a sound into a powerpoint saved as 'presentation and the sound type is MP3.

The presentation file when open from my notebook it was created the sound plays but when I email it to other user, the sound disappears but the animation works fine.

Insert sound from Powerpoint presentation file: Insert menu>Movies and Sounds>Sound from file.

Any clues on how to overcome this annoying issue?

Thanks

mcse2007,

Two things to bear in mind...

1) Powerpoint does not 'embed' mp3 files. It only links to them.
2) Powerpoint can embed .wav files.

see 'quick fix for wav files' on this page
Sounds/Movies don't play, images disappear or links break when I move or email a presentation
http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00155.htm

However, saying all that it is possible to fool powerpoint into thinking an mp3 is really a .wav file. And it will embed it.

see

and

Reason:
Sound files in wav format larger than 100 KB (i.e. anything but a short sound effect) and other file formats are linked to PowerPoint presentation, when you Email the PowerPoint presentation, the linked music will not be shown.
The differences between embed and link, please view:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/powerpoint/HA012303071033.aspx
Solution 1:
1. Put the sound files and the PowerPoint presentation in a same folder.
2. Reinsert the sound file to the PowerPoint presentation.
3. Package the entire folder into one archive file and send it to others.
Solution 2
Embed music in all format by converting PowerPoint to Flash movie. Some third party presentation tool such as Wondershare PPT2Flash Standard
http://www.sameshow.com/powerpoint-to-flash.html
can help you do this work. You can convert it with one click.

Also, you can send the Flash to Web and share your presentation on web with others.

Regards.
