asked on

configure a low disk space alert

Hello
I have 2003 sbs server.  I am trying to configure a low disk spaced alert  -- which will send me a message .  I followed microsoft instructions Performance logs and alerts and it does not send me a message.  I have a counter for the logical disk for free space. -- I also selected the send a network message box -- to administrator or ip address of server -- it did not send a message.

thanks!!

Then your right choice would be
                 Spiceworks
Download it from
                    http://www.spiceworks.com/signup/
You have an alert setting to receive a mail when there is low disk space as defined by you.

thanks
one more thing -- I just changed from sending a message to sending  a log to the application log in event viewer and it works.

I still don't know why the message will not show on the screeen ??

Thanks
Hi,

I would prefer
http://www.spiceworks.com/signup/
As this is free user frienly to configure....Did you have a chance to set it up...
I just don't understand why it will send me a console message

All i want to do is have the server display a message to me so i won't have to keep checking disk space on the server
