I currently have a program that uses SQL Server Express.  Other than the pain it causes when my users have to install SQL Server Express, it works fine.

I noticed that SQL Server Compact only requires about 6 or so dll's that can be placed in my installation package.

So, my questions are:

  -  are there any reasons I should stick with Express?
  -  can the converstion from Express to Compact be done programmatically to make it painless?
  -  does Compact support networking?
  -  where can I find out more about Compact?

Thanks in advance...

Interesting... OK... my next question is:  can I use the same database, only change the engine?  In other words, just include the aforementioned dll's and leave everything else the same? (with the exception of the connection details).  I really don't want to irritate my users anymore than I have to! :D

Never mind... ignore the last question... it looks like I have to write my own conversion program...

Thanks for the info, tho'
