casio np-20 battery not charging

Hi,

I have several casio np-20 batteries for a digital camera but they won't hold a charge.  They won't charge at all.  The charge light only flashes.  How can I fix these batteries?  Is there a way I can get them to charge up and hold a charge?

Thanks,

Lorne

you need to have an adjustable PS that delivers the voltage you want, then momentarily touch the battery with the contacts, to "trickle" it in to charging; once it starts - you do a full load /unload cycle for testing
if it does not start charging, you increase the voltage by 5%
Be careful not to increase the voltage too much ! and do it at your own risk

Hi,

We have actually taken some of these batteries to a tech guy and they come back working perfect.  He won't tell us what he is doing to fix them but he somehow gets them to charge.  What do you think he is doing?

There are some "tricks" that help in some cases, like put a voltage of 12 V on a 6v battery to kick-start it .  .
but they do not work always. Be happy if they work . .

Do you know how we would go about doing this?

Thanks.
