How can i start a proccess or script manually that can run without needing my brower to remain open to continue running?

Background: Site is MLM (network marketing) it is on a semi dedicated server with webhost4life.com
Hosting Plan:http://www.webhost4life.com/mspower.asp

Programmer has created function with stored procedure that runs code to calculation customers commissions based on sales that month.

Problem: The page does not finish and load the final screen. I get a web page can not be displayed. From my house it is almost always. From office it is most the time. Programmer has only seen page once...

Question: is there a way to start this process manually so it is not dependant on my internet connection being maintained or affected by my speed?

I think one option would be to use scheduler, but I need to be able to manually run. As I run once view data make correction add more orders then run again.

i think MLM calculation doesnt incorporate huge data
i had 3-4 work on same MLM sites

I think your prbolem is DATA trafic
due to huge data its doesnt show u properly

it has several solutions

1. USE StoreProcedure on server side. means use StoreProcedure on SQL side to retrive data
2. Transfer Data in the form on XML. Meas use Webservice as a middletier
3. if u want to use your existing system then just put some SSLT or DTS  Job which automatically perform some Procudure as it is schedule. This is pure Dataserver side part.
