Hi

I downloaded the lateste snapshop if indy.socket - Indy10.zip dated 29-Nov-07

I followed the instructions give on IndyProjects site http://www.indyproject.org/Sockets/Docs/Indy10Installation.EN.aspx

when i open the package files and compile them and then click Install everything works fine...

But when i go to Component => Install Package
and select the installed package and click components to see its componenets...the list is blank,,,

Any idea what is wrong here....

If you want i can give you the source i am using.

Thanks

Mahesh

"But when i go to Component => Install Package"

why do you do that? they don't say to do that, do they? so you are not following those instructions.

step 2, compiles the indy comopnents which as they are after step 2 can be used anywhere, provided that right path is given.

step 3 installs those components in the IDE. those 2 packages are the design time packages. only those can be installed in the IDE.

so, follow the instructions to the letter, exactly those, not less, not more, and you should have the components installed just fine.

ultimatly, don't forget to mention your delphi version and what package name were you trying to install.

I am using Delphi 6...

I installed Core and protocall as instruction says

You were right...i changed it to runtime and designtime and then installed and it installed all the controls...

now when i drop TIDSMTP cotrol on screen and just run the application...it give me error like

[Error] IdURI.pas(93): Undeclared identifier: 'TIdIPVersion'
[Error] IdGlobalProtocols.pas(415): Undeclared identifier: 'TIdBytes'
[Error] IdGlobalProtocols.pas(595): Undeclared identifier: 'TextIsSame'
[Error] IdGlobalProtocols.pas(604): Undeclared identifier: 'CharIsInSet'
[Error] IdGlobalProtocols.pas(633): Operator not applicable to this operand type
[Error] IdGlobalProtocols.pas(639): Operator not applicable to this operand type
[Error] IdGlobalProtocols.pas(698): Undeclared identifier: 'TextStartsWith'
[Error] IdGlobalProtocols.pas(704): Operator not applicable to this operand type

I presume there is some library path which needs to be included but i am not sure which one...

Any idea what i am missing here

Thanks

I repeat my self

"so, follow the instructions to the letter, exactly those, not less, not more, and you should have the components installed just fine."

did you follow through step 4? completly? they say add paths to the dcus. you have 3 directories with dcus that you have just compiled (see step 2)

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.
