I've been hacked recently on a vista pc with zonealarm anti virus/spyware/firewall? As I think I can use Mac OS X on my intel pc i wonder if it's a safer OS? are there good virus/spyware/firewall tools for mac?

Many thanks in advance.

Well..any system is only as safe as the user who is handling it 'no offence'..considering your comparison of OS X vs Linux..well OS X is based on the Linux Kernel so yeah...you wont have to deal with Windows Viruses,Trojans and Spyware...and as long as you do not use root to do your work you should be practically safe..with a firewall that is of course.

The thing is that Windows OSes usually have more known exploits which are fairly easily attackable by any experienced IT guys

Interesting...so i'll be exposed to linux exploits/viruses...etc.Is there any virus/spyware/firewall suite you'd recommend for mac? do you get regular Mac security updates as in MS OSs? cheers,

well..linux viruses practically do not exist...if you do not use root privileges while you are using your OS you wont be targeted by exploits alot as well. As for updates yes there are updates around which are easily available.
