GridView Column Sizes

In VS 2005 and ASP.NET 2.0, I have a test app that displays data in agrid view. With no other options set on the grid view control, I'm finding that columns are only as wide as the header text and any data is wrapped within that width. What I'd like to be able to do is set each column width programmatically and not have the text not wrap so that each row height is the same. If I want to see all the data text in a particular column, I'd like to be able to click and drag the column divider to widen it to see more text, or better yet double click on the divider to set the column to the width of the longest data text. Is any or all of this possible and, if so how? TIA

I'm keeping the points low so that I don't waste a lot of them only to be told it can't be done, but I'll be sure to reward anyone who can provide me with a workable solution.
