Hi,

We are planning to use RMAN as our basic backup tool to backup Oracle database. We are using ASM to store data files, control files and archivelogs. We tested various scenarios except one. Suppose we have full online RMAN backup and all archivelogs, what are the steps to restore this backup onto to a different system, in case we loose our production hardware?

Thanks,

This has been outlined on many pages out in the internet... here is one:

This one assumes you have lost your ASM as well... if you still have your ASM, the restore process is similar though.
