Hi,

I am after advice on a firewall that will fit my needs.

I currently link 4 x sites with IPCop VPN and it works like a dream.

Problem is at my main site I need more flexibiltiy that IP Cop provides on my firewall.

I need to put into my main site a box that will: (4 x NICS)

A: provide vpn links to ipcop boxes as easy as IPCop does (in the past other vpn devices haven't easily linked to IPCop)

B: provide 2 x incomming Wan (1 x PPPOE, 1 x Realworld IP)

C: 2 Lan connections (1x firewalled, 1 x dmz)

D: Traffic Shaping

E: Virus Scanning of traffic and email

F: Intrusion Detection

G: Transparent Proxy

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi there!
You can check sidewinder firewalls. They are very good.
I've used to work with Cyberguard firewalls, but they were equired by SecureComputing.

not many actually (so it means budget is relatively small also).
Linux solution is an option, but for such a small number or PCs I would recommend complete solution from Cisco, Nortel,Checkpoint, etc. You can also try to look at Linksys and D-link.These solutions are not open source, but do you realy need open source? It is difficult to maintain...
