Pretty new to SAP, and I am not a DBA. This thing used to work and then stopped. When you press F1 or the question mark inside SAP Business One I get a cannot find SBO_Help.chm error with a long string/content.htm

Any ideas?!

Thanks.

Hi,

I am too quite new to SAP but I think I have a good basic understanding of most admin tasks and I'm administering quite a large system running ECC 6 with Oracle 10g.

It sounds like you may have a problem accessing the share, path or file where the "SBO_Help.chm" file is located. In SAP you can specify the location of help objects from transaction SR13 if you check that out you will probably see where your CHM (Complied HTML) file is mean't to be stored and then you can check the permissions etc and make sure the file is accessible at that location.

I hope this helps but anyone else please feel free to chime in as I am always keen to learn something new.

Yeah I was looking for that place where you can find the location of help files or other objects. What is transaction SR13? Where and how can I check it?

Thank you.

SR13 is the code that I enter to bring up the "Administration of the SAP Library" window. There are a number of tabs and I think the one you are looking for is HTMLHelpFile. I don't use the menu's to execute the transactions I just enter the codes as my menu differs so much between all my SAP instances.

Do you see codes like that in your menu's for example "DB24 -  Database Operations Monitor"

o.k where do you type this code? Remember I have never worked with this thing before...

Do I need to login with a user with admin rights? Is it something I can run from the SQL management?

Please be more detailed. I am really new to this. I know how to login to SAP thats about it.

In my version (never seen SAP Business one) when you logon there is a SAP easy access menu along with a field (white box) that you can type in. If you see something similar then you enter in SR13 and hit enter or select the Enter button (green tick). This will open up the window I'm talking about in view only format. That should be enough for you to view where your help file should be.

As far as access the account you use needs to be authorisation to run the transaction. You won't know that until you try to run it. If you don't then you need to use an account that does have access.

SAP security is a very big topic and if you need to start messing around with the user roles and authorisations you are going to need some further help.

Try this maybe it will help you with your version.

After logging into SBO check the Help settings via Top Menu > Help > Help Settings > Check the Radio Button.. whether set to Local Installation OR Shared Folder?

You are awesome man it worked! And I think I know the problem, it says shared folder and the \\servername is wrong, but it doesn't let me change it so I choose local. How can I change the shared folder field?

Many thanks.

Morning if you can't modify the option from here its probably due to the fact that your account does not have the required permissions. Sorry but I don't know what permissions you require but if you are able to logon as the super user/admin account.

Someone there should know what this is or be able to help you further.

Is this happening on all clients or just one? If its just one the only last thing I could suggest is to try and re-install the client. Apart from that I'm outta ideas sorry.
