Hi,

I am planning on developing a small to medium size e-commerce web site for a customer. I will be using visual web developer to deploy the application. Is this possible? If not, are there any pluggins that would let me deploy (.dll and .exe) and package the application? Also I am using Sql Server express edition. I understand that it is free for redistribution as long as one registers the copy. I would like to now if there are any limitations for what I am trying to do using visual web developer and Sql Server express Ed. I think that Sql Server express is enough for what I am doing and it should not be to bad to upgrade as the business grow.

How many processors and memory bandwidth would Sql Server Express support? Are dual core processors considered one cpu or two cpu's? Any inputs or thoughts will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If SQL Server 2005 Express is running on Windows XP Home, it is limited to five simultaneous connections. If it is running on Windows 2000 or Windows XP Professional, it is limited to 10 simultaneous connections. However, these are limitations of the operating system and not of SQL Server 2005 Express.

About multi core support of SQL server express. More details are available here

You might want to check the scalability and performance section on this link http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sql/2005/msde2sqlexpress.mspx

You should be able to deploy the web application with Visual Web Developper with ease. As far as i know there are no limitations you might have deploying web apps using the web edition.
