Hi Harry,

I don't know if there is a way to capture an abnormal program termination. when the application is closed using Task Manager, the application still try to continue the normal program closing sequence (unless the program is busy with some action and cannot respond to normal closing request).
If your requirement is to check if the program was closed abnormally when it was executed last time, then you may write the status into a file (or database). Whenever your application is opened and closed in normal way, write the status into one file (or database, depending on the type of your appliaction). When the application is opened (run next time) check if there was status updated in the file to know if it was closed normally or abnormally.

Please let me know if you more info.

Thanks,
Harish
