I have a server

windows 2003, with exchange 2003

running Symantec Corporate Server AV 10, and Mail Security for Exchange

the Server AV has been partially corrupted in such that it is not in the Symantec group (ut a group of the same name witha 2 in brackets after it)

the password used for the group is not reconginsed at all.

and so I can not uninstall or reconfigure this server's AV

the iforget.exe tool does not work, as it says there is no server product installed.

Any ideas on how to reset the password, which registry key it is in, if there is a document to manually uninstall the symantec server 10.x which will get rid of the corrupted password as well?

Any idea's guys

Hi,

Have you tried the back-door password? ie, the name of the vendor...

Those first two links are only useful if you have the home editions of Nortons and have no baring on a corporate installation.

the registry hack is interesting and I will try that at the next oppurtunity.
