Hi, A client uses snippetmaster (Editor), and she has just asked me what this means.  Unfortunately never having used snippetmaster before I do not know...can anyone shed some light on it please?

Warning: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613/../../../../../../home/ioncube/ioncube_loader_lin_5.2.so) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/wwwblos:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/tmp) in /home/wwwblos/public_html/snippetmaster/index.php on line 3

PS I have tried their user forum, no answer yet, so hoping the error is general enough for someone to help on here...or the error looks like a missing page...or something..:)

Safe mode is probably on .

Have a look at

http://www.php.net/manual/en/features.safe-mode.php

and also

http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.file-exists.php

Basically what it means is that the file your client is trying to open is outside the allowed directory tree.

So it could be a case of her having moved the index.php file from snippetmaster folder to 'somewhereelse/'  folder?

No. From what i can see its trying to check if ioncube is installed on the system. Your client probably being on a share host doesnt have access to resources outside his document root.

He could try and contact his hosting provider but in most cases they will refuse to make any changes.

From snippetmaster website it looks like there are 2 flavors. On encrypted with Zend Optimizer and the other with Ioncube.

http://www.snippetmaster.com/requirements/loaders.php

Tell your client to try the zend optimizer version, as it comes bundled with php and it doesnt matter if safe mode is on
